AN EVALUATION OF COMMUNITY-BASED INTERVENTIONS TO COUNTER TOXIC FEMINIST NARRATIVES AND PROMOTE MARITAL STABILITY: A STUDY OF ABUJA GRASSROOTS ORGANIZATIONS
Background of the Study
Toxic feminism, characterized by radical ideologies that challenge traditional gender roles, often promotes the idea of women’s autonomy at the expense of traditional family structures. This has led to a significant shift in societal attitudes towards marriage, marital fidelity, and family dynamics. While the feminist movement has contributed to the empowerment of women, toxic feminism has also raised concerns about its potential destabilizing effects on marriage, particularly in communities where traditional marital norms are highly valued.
In Abuja, grassroots organizations have taken the initiative to address these challenges by promoting marital stability and counteracting toxic feminist narratives through community-based interventions. These interventions, which are often culturally sensitive and grounded in local norms, aim to reinforce traditional values that support marriage and family life. This study will evaluate the effectiveness of these community-based initiatives in promoting marital stability and countering the influence of toxic feminism in Abuja.
Statement of the Problem
While toxic feminist ideologies have had a significant impact on societal attitudes towards marriage and family, the role of grassroots organizations in Abuja in countering these narratives has not been sufficiently explored. This study will investigate the strategies used by these organizations to promote marital stability and mitigate the influence of toxic feminism, focusing on their success in reshaping community attitudes toward marriage and family structures.
Objectives of the Study
To evaluate the effectiveness of community-based interventions in countering toxic feminist narratives in Abuja.
To assess how grassroots organizations promote marital stability and traditional family values in Abuja.
To explore the impact of these interventions on community attitudes towards marriage, fidelity, and family life.
Research Questions
How do community-based interventions in Abuja counter the influence of toxic feminist narratives?
What strategies do grassroots organizations use to promote marital stability in Abuja?
How have these interventions influenced community attitudes towards marriage and family life?
Significance of the Study
This study is significant because it provides a critical evaluation of community-based interventions aimed at countering toxic feminist ideologies and promoting marital stability. By focusing on grassroots organizations in Abuja, the research will offer insights into how local initiatives can influence broader societal attitudes toward marriage and family life. The findings will be valuable for community leaders, policymakers, and social workers working to address the effects of toxic feminism on marriage and family dynamics.
Scope and Limitation of the Study
The study will focus on community-based interventions in Abuja, particularly those led by grassroots organizations. It will examine how these interventions address toxic feminist narratives and promote marital stability. The research will be limited to community-based efforts and will not explore government or institutional-level interventions.
